Tile Accessories: Adhesive, Grout, Spacers, Trims, Sealant and Tools for a Clean Finish
Tile accessories are everything you buy besides the tile: adhesive, grout, spacers, trims, edge profiles, sealant and cutting tools. They decide whether a tiled surface stays flat, watertight and neat for years, and they are often left out of early budgets. This guide lists each accessory, what it does, how to choose and how much to allow. For the tiles themselves, see our tiles in Pakistan guide.
What counts as a tile accessory
Accessories fall into materials that stay in the wall or floor and tools that you use once.
| Accessory | What it does | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Adhesive | Bonds the tile to the base | See tile adhesive and bond |
| Grout | Fills the joints | See grout |
| Spacers | Keep joints even | See spacers |
| Trims and profiles | Finish edges and corners | On this page |
| Sealant | Waterproofs movement joints | On this page |
| Tools | Cut, spread and clean | On this page |
Adhesive and bond
The adhesive must suit the tile, the base and the place. Dense porcelain, large formats and exterior work need stronger, flexible adhesives than small wall tiles. See tile adhesive and bond.
Grout and spacers
Grout colour and joint width shape the look, and spacers keep the grid straight. Use sealed or epoxy grout in wet zones. See grout and tile spacers.

Trims and edge profiles
Trims finish exposed tile edges and external corners, and protect them from chips. Aluminium, stainless steel and PVC profiles come in straight, rounded and L shapes in several heights to match the tile thickness. Choose the finish to match fittings, and fix the profile before the tile so it sits flush.
Sealant and waterproofing
Use flexible silicone or a similar sealant at internal corners, around baths and sinks and in movement joints, because rigid grout cracks where surfaces move. In wet rooms, waterproof the floor and lower walls before tiling. Mould-resistant sealant lasts longer in showers.
Tools worth buying or hiring
- Notched trowel: the notch size follows the tile size.
- Tile cutter or wet saw: for straight and diagonal cuts.
- Rubber mallet and levelling clips: for flat large tiles.
- Grout float and sponge: for neat joints.
- Spirit level and straight edge: to check every row.

How much to budget
Allow for adhesive, grout, spacers, trims and sealant on top of the tile and the laying labour, and plan about 10 per cent wastage on tile. We do not publish a verified price list for accessories, because brands and pack sizes vary, so ask for a written rate. For tile prices, see floor tiles price.
How we quote
Send the room size, a sketch or photo and the finish you like. We confirm what we can supply and reply with a written rate that lists every item. Before you order, confirm the exact size or model, ask for the specification and warranty in writing, and compare totals including fitting and delivery rather than the item price alone. To get a close first estimate, clear the area, mark sockets, switches and pipe positions, note the ceiling height and photograph the space from two corners.
| Item | Unit | Scope | Supply | Rate |

Frequently Asked Questions
At minimum you need adhesive, grout, spacers and sealant, plus trims for exposed edges and external corners. Tools such as a notched trowel, cutter, level and grout float complete the kit. Waterproofing is also needed in bathrooms, showers and any wet area. Ask for the specification in writing so you can compare quotes on the same basis.
They are a smaller share of the job than the tile, but they matter. Poor adhesive or grout can fail within a year and cost far more to fix. We do not publish verified accessory prices, so send the area and the tile type for a written rate.
Choose the profile by where it goes: L or square-edge trims for outside corners, rounded trims for softer edges and a height that matches the tile thickness. Pick a finish such as aluminium or steel that suits the fittings and keeps its look in damp rooms.
Corners and changes of plane move slightly with temperature and loads. Rigid grout cracks there, while flexible silicone sealant stretches and keeps the joint watertight. Use it at internal corners, around sinks and baths and in movement joints. Prices and stock change, so confirm the current position before you commit.
Yes. Send the room size, the tile and the place it goes on WhatsApp, and we reply with a written rate listing the tile, adhesive, grout and accessories together, so you can compare quotes on the same scope and avoid missing items. If in doubt, send a photo and the measurements and we will advise.
Send the room size, the tile size you prefer and a photo of the space on WhatsApp. We confirm what we can supply and reply with a written rate that lists the tile, the boxes needed with wastage and the adhesive and grout, so you can compare quotes on the same scope.
