Media Wall Design: Ideas, Materials, Sizes and Cost in Pakistan

A media wall turns the plain wall behind your TV into the centrepiece of a room, and the right media wall design makes a small lounge feel tidy and a large one feel finished. This hub brings together everything we have written on the subject: styles for living rooms, bedrooms and offices, the materials behind each look, TV and wall sizes, lighting, and what a complete wall costs. It sits alongside our wall panels range, which supplies most of the surfaces.

What a media wall is, and what makes a good one

A media wall is a finished wall built around the TV: a backing and surface that hides cables, holds the screen at the right height and gives the room a focal point. It can be as simple as one panel and a shelf, or as layered as a recessed niche with lighting and storage. What separates a good one from an average one is rarely the budget. It is proportion, restraint and planning: the TV centred at the right height, one dominant material, one light source and a clean cable route.

We separate it from plain panelling because the job is different. A media wall is a built wall with framing and finish; panelling alone is a surface. The guides below cover both, and the price section explains the difference.

Guides by style and room

Every TV wall starts with three decisions: the room, the look and the budget. A bedroom wants calm colours and a lower screen height, a living room can carry stronger texture and lighting, and a small flat usually needs the simplest layout that still hides the cables.

The guides below are grouped by those decisions. Open the page closest to what you want to build, check the sizes and materials it recommends, then use the price guide to turn the idea into a rough budget before you ask for a quote.

  • Planning a bedroom? Start with the bedroom guide for screen height and viewing distance.
  • Short on budget or space? The simple designs page keeps the layout light.
  • Want a statement wall? The modern designs page covers fluted panels, LED lines and marble looks.

Panels and materials for TV walls

Most of these walls use one of four surfaces. The table compares them, with our 2026 rates per sq ft for the panel alone. A complete built wall is priced differently, and the price section below explains how.

Rates are for the panel alone. See fluted wall panels and WPC wall panels for the profiles most often used on feature walls.

Wooden and wood-look designs

Warm timber tones remain the most requested look for family lounges. Real wood can be used in dry rooms, but wood-look PVC and WPC give a similar warmth with less upkeep and a lower price. A vertical slat pattern with a warm LED glow behind it is the classic version. Keep the rest of the wall plain so the wood is the feature, and choose a colour that matches the floor or furniture rather than competing with it.

TV sizes and wall dimensions

Plan the wall around the TV. The table shows the approximate screen width of common sizes and the wall width we suggest for a panelled design; the wall widths are a rule of thumb because a framed design needs space beside the screen.

Measure the wall before you choose a TV, not after. Leave room for a shelf, a speaker or a decorative frame on each side of the screen, and check the height too: most Pakistani homes have 9 to 10 ft ceilings, which suits a floor-to-ceiling panelled wall. In a small room, a smaller TV on a well-proportioned wall usually looks better than a large one squeezed in.

43 inchabout 37 inches (3 ft)6 ft
55 inchabout 48 inches (4 ft)8 ft
65 inchabout 57 inches (4.75 ft)10 ft
75 inchabout 65 inches (5.4 ft)12 ft

Rule of thumb for a panelled wall. Heights are normally 8 to 10 ft, floor to ceiling.

The TV centre should sit near seated eye level, roughly 40 to 48 inches from the floor in a lounge and a little lower in a bedroom. More detail is in our media wall design in Pakistan guide.

Lighting, cables and ventilation

These are the details that decide whether the wall looks professional. Plan the socket behind the TV and run conduit for the cables before the finish goes on. Leave a ventilated niche or shelf for the set-top box so it does not overheat. Use warm, dimmable LED strips, positioned along the top, sides or a panel groove, and keep the driver accessible. Electrical work is not part of the media wall rate, so book your electrician before the panels are fixed.

Home theatre rooms

If the room is a dedicated cinema or a lounge where sound matters, think about acoustics as well as looks. Soft, textured and fabric-look panels reduce echo, and speaker positions should be planned before the wall is finished. Our home theatre acoustic panels page covers the sound side, and the panels there can be combined with any design from this hub.

Offices and reception areas

Offices use panelled TV walls in reception areas, waiting rooms and boardrooms to hold screens for presentations or brand content. Neutral colours, concealed cabling and a clean panel grid look professional, and a fluted or acoustic-style panel behind the screen softens echo in a meeting room. The same planning rules apply: screen height, socket position and ventilation for equipment.

What it costs

A complete built media wall, with framing, panels, finishing and fitting, is priced at Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,500 per sq ft of wall. It excludes the TV, the TV unit and electrical work, and unusual extras such as custom LED designs or large storage are quoted on request.

The rate covers the wall as a finished job, so you are not buying panels, framing and labour separately. If you only need panels fitted on a plain wall, the panel-only rows below show the material and installation rates side by side. For a quote on your wall, send its width, height and a photo on WhatsApp.

. For a 10 x 9 ft wall that is Rs 108,000 to Rs 135,000 as a complete wall, or Rs 9,450 to Rs 22,500 with simple PVC panels only. Full tables are on media wall price in Pakistan.

For a cheaper route, panel only the wall behind the TV and add a floating shelf; the simple media wall designs show how.

How a project runs

Send the wall size and a photo on WhatsApp, with the style you like. We reply with a design idea and a quote for the complete wall. Once you confirm, the wall is measured, the backing is built, the panels are fitted and the finish is applied. We supply panels across Pakistan and arrange installation in Lahore. For ideas to take to the conversation, read our wall panel design guide and the price per sq ft explainer.

Media Wall Design: Frequently Asked Questions

A media wall is a finished wall built around the TV, with a backing and surface that hides cables, holds the screen at the right height and acts as the focal point of the room. It ranges from a single panel and shelf to a layered design with lighting.

It depends on the room and budget. Wood-look panels with a warm LED strip suit family lounges, clean minimal walls suit small rooms, and fluted or marble-look walls suit formal lounges. Send a photo of your wall for a suggestion.
