Measuring your ceiling area
For a false ceiling, the area is simply the floor area of the room — length times width — since the ceiling mirrors the floor below it. Measure each room you want done and add them together. If you are only doing a border or a partial design rather than the whole ceiling, estimate the covered portion. False ceilings are priced by the square foot of ceiling, so this is the only measurement you need to get a figure.
PVC versus gypsum, and what the rate covers
The per-square-foot rate includes the ceiling board plus GI framing, cove and installation. PVC ceilings are the most economical and are waterproof, which makes them ideal for kitchens, bathrooms and quick makeovers. Gypsum ceilings cost a little more and give a seamless painted finish with room for concealed and cove lighting, preferred in living rooms and bedrooms. Standard 2026 rates run roughly PKR 250–400 per square foot fitted; the quality toggle moves the estimate across that range, with premium reflecting more elaborate multi-level and lit designs.
From estimate to install
Lighting is where a false ceiling budget often grows — cove lighting, spotlights and their wiring add cost beyond the ceiling rate itself, so plan the electrical alongside.
