How to use these rates
Grey-structure trades are charged per square foot of covered (constructed) area — multiply the rate by your total built area across all floors. Finishing trades are charged on their own quantity: flooring and false ceiling on area, wall panelling on the panelled area, woodwork on cabinet face area, and doors per unit. The easiest way to combine them is the construction cost calculator, which does the arithmetic and applies your city and finish quality automatically.
Methodology & licence
Figures are surveyed from Pakistani construction-industry and materials-supplier sources (linked against each row) and cross-checked against real builder quotes for whole-house totals. Where sources disagree we take a mid-range value and record the range. These rates are a planning reference and move with the market; confirm a firm quote before ordering. Frequently asked questions
Monthly. Every rate carries its source and the date it was last checked, and the whole index is dated at the top. Because cement, steel and imported finishes move with the exchange rate, we re-survey the figures regularly rather than letting them go stale.
The baseline figures are Lahore rates. Other cities run a few percent above or below on labour and transport — Islamabad and Karachi higher, south Punjab and Faisalabad lower. The cost calculator applies a city adjustment automatically.
