Vinyl Flooring in Islamabad: Warm, Quiet Floors for Houses, Apartments and Offices

Vinyl flooring in Islamabad suits a city of larger houses, cooler winters than the plains and many homes with old marble or tile that feels cold and hard underfoot. Vinyl is warmer to the touch, quieter to walk on and quick to fit over many existing floors. This guide explains which type to choose, how to cover old marble and tile, how vinyl behaves with winter heating and how to get a written quote. Product details are in our PVC vinyl flooring guide.

Why vinyl works in Islamabad homes

Islamabad has hot summers and cooler winters than the plains, and many houses have large rooms with hard floors of marble or tile that feel cold in winter. Vinyl has a softer, warmer feel, absorbs some sound in big rooms and does not need grout or polishing. It also copes with the occasional damp season and with spills in kitchens and bathrooms.

Choosing the right vinyl type

The choice depends on the room and the subfloor.

Fitting over old marble and tile

Many houses have polished marble or glazed tile. Vinyl cannot be glued reliably to a polished, glossy surface, but a floating click SPC floor can often be laid over firm old tile or marble if the surface is flat and the grout lines are filled or skimmed. Hollow or loose tiles must be fixed or removed first. Ask for a site check, since the old floor decides the method.

Winter heating and underfloor systems

Vinyl is generally compatible with underfloor heating, within the maker's temperature limits, which are usually modest. Never exceed the stated surface temperature, and introduce heat gradually. If you plan underfloor heating, say so when you order, so that a suitable product and underlay are chosen. Avoid placing heavy rugs with rubber backing that can stain vinyl.

Stairs, skirting and thresholds

Larger houses often have stairs. Vinyl can be fitted on steps with matching stair nosings, which give a safe, neat edge. Plan skirting, thresholds between rooms and transitions to other floors so that levels meet cleanly. Ask for these in the quote, since they are easy to leave out.

Cleaning and care

Sweep or vacuum and mop with a damp cloth and a mild cleaner. Use mats at doors to keep grit out, and felt pads under furniture. Avoid harsh solvents and abrasive pads. Read how to install vinyl and SPC flooring for the fitting steps.

Vinyl Flooring in Islamabad: Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Vinyl is warmer and quieter than old marble or tile, easy to clean and waterproof. SPC and LVT click floors are quick to fit, look like wood and suit living areas, bedrooms, kitchens and offices. A flat, dry subfloor gives the best result.

Often a floating click SPC floor can be laid over firm, flat marble or tile if the grout lines are filled or skimmed. Glossy polished surfaces are poor for gluing. Loose or hollow tiles must be fixed first. Ask for a site check before ordering.

Generally yes, within the maker's temperature limit, which is usually modest. Introduce heat gradually and never exceed the stated surface temperature. Tell us at the time of ordering so that a suitable product and underlay are chosen for heated floors.

SPC click planks are a good choice for large rooms because the rigid core tolerates small variations and is stable. LVT suits bedrooms and studies where a softer feel is wanted. Choose sheet or sealed SPC in kitchens and bathrooms.
