Commodes in Pakistan: One-Piece, Two-Piece and Wall-Hung Types, Traps, Flush Systems and Prices

Commodes are the most used fixtures in the house, so the right choice saves repairs, water and cleaning time, and a good one lasts for decades. The main decisions are the type, the trap and the flush system, and then the seat and the fixing. Getting the waste position wrong is the costliest mistake, because it cannot be fixed after tiling. This guide covers types, traps, flush systems, sizes, rough-in and indicative prices. For toilets in general, see toilets.

Types of commode

Choose by space and budget.

S trap and P trap

An S trap sends waste through the floor, and a P trap sends it through the wall. Check the waste position before buying, since the trap must match the drainage.

Flush systems

Single, dual and concealed systems differ in water use. See commode flush for choices and repair.

Seats and covers

Slow-close seats prevent slamming and are easy to replace. See commode seats.

Sizes and rough-in

Measure the distance from the finished wall to the waste centre, called the rough-in, before the floor is tiled, because a wrong waste position cannot be fixed afterwards without breaking the floor. Standard bowls need clearance of about 15 inches from the centre to side walls.

See Master commode, Porta commode and the sanitary fittings price list.

How we quote

Send the room size, a sketch or photo and the finish you like. We confirm what we can supply and reply with a written rate that lists every item. Before you order, confirm the exact size or model, ask for the specification and warranty in writing, and compare totals including fitting and delivery rather than the item price alone. To get a close first estimate, clear the area, mark sockets, switches and pipe positions, note the ceiling height and photograph the space from two corners.
