HDPE Pipe Price in Pakistan: PE80 and PE100 Pipe, PN Ratings, Sizes From 20 to 630 Millimetres, Coils and Lengths, Butt Fusion and Compression Fittings, Uses for Water Supply and Irrigation and Quality Checks

HDPE pipe price in Pakistan runs from about PKR 60 per metre for small coil pipe to PKR 15,000 or more for large diameters, and high-density polyethylene is the choice for underground water mains, tube wells and irrigation because it is flexible, corrosion-free and joined with leak-free fusion. This page lists indicative rates and covers PE80 and PE100 pipe, PN ratings, sizes, coils and lengths, butt fusion and compression fittings, uses and quality checks. For related pages see PVC pipes, PPRC pipes and deep well pumps.

PE80 and PE100

PE100 is a stronger grade than PE80, so a PE100 pipe of the same pressure class has a thinner wall and costs less per metre. Ask for the grade, the PN rating and the standard marked on the pipe.

PN ratings

PN6, PN10, PN12.5 and PN16 mean the pressure in bar the pipe can hold at 20 degrees. Choose a class above the working pressure with a safety margin, and allow for pump surge. Most water supply uses PN10 or PN16.

Sizes, coils and lengths

Small sizes come in coils of 50 to 100 metres, and larger sizes in 6 or 12 metre straight lengths. Coil pipe is quick to lay with few joints. Straight lengths suit large mains.

Joints

Large pipe is joined by butt fusion or electrofusion, which makes a joint as strong as the pipe, and small pipe by compression fittings. Use trained welders and the right machine. Poor fusion leads to failures. Plumbing and gas work should be done by licensed tradespeople and pressure tested before it is covered.

Uses

HDPE suits underground water supply, tube well rising mains, irrigation, drainage and sewer lines and industrial lines. It does not rust, handles ground movement and has a design life of 50 years. Do not use it for hot water.

Quality checks

Look for printed grade, size, PN rating, maker and standard, a uniform black colour with blue or other stripes for water and smooth inside walls. Recycled material makes brittle pipe. Ask for test certificates.

Laying and protection

Lay in a trench on sand with no sharp stones, keep it out of direct sun when stored and mark the line above ground. Pressure test before backfill.

What to check before buying

  • Grade and PN. Printed
  • Joints. Fusion by trained crew
  • Colour and stripe. Uniform
  • Test. Pressure tested

Before you decide

HDPE is flexible and fusion-welded, and PVC is rigid and cemented. For underground mains in unstable ground, HDPE often performs better. Choose the grade and PN class, use trained welders and test before backfill. A well laid HDPE line serves for decades. Ask the supplier for the pressure rating at your operating temperature and keep the pipe markings photographed for the record.

Frequently Asked Questions

As indicative ranges, 20 millimetre coil pipe is about PKR 60 to 150 per metre and 110 millimetre pipe about PKR 1,300 to 3,200. Ask for the specification in writing so you can compare quotes on the same basis. Check the warranty terms and who honours them before you pay.

PE100 is stronger, so a thinner wall holds the same pressure. Check the warranty terms and who honours them before you pay. Measure carefully and confirm sizes with the seller before ordering. Rates and stock change, so confirm the current position before you commit.
