Industrial Exhaust Fan in Pakistan: 18 to 48 Inch Wall Fans, HVLS Fans, Airflow Sizing, Rates and Installation
An industrial exhaust fan removes heat, dust, fumes and stale air from a workshop, factory, kitchen hall or warehouse, and it is built for long hours of use. Industrial exhaust fan price in Pakistan runs from about PKR 9,500 for a 16 inch metal fan to over PKR 14,000 for a 24 inch unit, with larger sizes quoted by the supplier. This page explains the sizes, how to calculate the airflow you need, the HVLS option, noise and power use, indicative rates and how to install one safely. For homes, see ventilation fans and kitchen exhaust fans.
Where industrial exhaust fans are used
Typical places are workshops with welding or paint, bakeries, commercial kitchens, poultry and cold-store sheds, garages, warehouses and marriage halls. They are made with a heavy metal frame, a strong motor and wide blades. The aim is to move a large volume of air steadily, not to cool a person.

Common sizes
Wall exhaust fans are sold by blade size, usually 16, 18, 20, 24 and larger up to 48 inch. Bigger fans move more air at a lower speed, which is quieter and uses less power per cubic foot moved. Very large fans for tall halls are often quoted individually by the supplier.

How to size the airflow
Measure the room volume in cubic feet. Choose air changes per hour: about 15 for a kitchen hall, 20 or more for a workshop with fumes. Multiply the volume by the air changes, divide by 60 to get cubic feet per minute and compare with the fan label. Our exhaust fan size guide shows a worked example.
HVLS fans
High volume low speed fans are very large ceiling fans, often 8 to 24 feet across, that move a big, slow column of air in tall halls. They suit warehouses, gyms and marriage halls where comfort matters more than extraction. They cost far more than wall exhaust fans, and need a strong structure to hang from.
Noise and power
An industrial fan motor commonly draws 150 to 750 watts or more. Choose a larger fan running slowly instead of a small one at full speed, and mount it on rubber pads to reduce vibration. Use a properly rated breaker and a contactor for three-phase motors.
Installation tips
Place fans on the wall opposite the air entry and as high as practical. Provide a clear opening for fresh air so the fan does not starve. Seal the frame, fit a shutter against rain and birds and use a guard on the intake side. Fixed wiring should be done by a licensed electrician.
Maintenance
Dust and grease slow the blades and heat the motor. Clean the blades and the guard each month in a dusty workshop, check the belt or bearings if fitted and listen for a change in sound. A motor that runs hot or squeals should be checked before it fails.
Frequently Asked Questions
A 16 inch metal exhaust fan is about PKR 9,500 to 11,000, a 20 inch about PKR 11,500 to 13,000 and a 24 inch about PKR 13,500 to 18,000. Larger 36 and 48 inch fans are usually quoted by the supplier and cost more.
Work out the room volume, pick air changes per hour for the use, and calculate the airflow in cubic feet per minute. Then match it to a fan label with some margin. A larger fan at lower speed is quieter than a small fan at full speed.
An HVLS fan is a very large, slow ceiling fan that moves a big column of air in a tall hall. It suits warehouses, gyms and marriage halls for comfort. It is not a replacement for an exhaust fan that removes fumes or smoke.
Yes, if it has a motor rated for continuous duty. Keep the blades and guard clean, fit it correctly and make sure fresh air can enter. A fan that overheats or squeals needs service. Rates and stock change, so confirm the current position before you commit.
Small and medium industrial fans often run on single-phase supply. Larger motors may need three-phase. Check the label, and use the correct breaker and cable size, which a licensed electrician should confirm. If you are unsure, send a photo and the measurements and we will advise.
